Award-winning Nigerian superstar Adekunle Gold is set to make history as the first Nigerian and only the second African artist after multi-Grammy-winning icon Angelique Kidjo to perform at the prestigious London Jazz Festival.
The acclaimed singer-songwriter is billed to deliver the festival’s closing performance at the iconic Royal Festival Hall on Sunday, 23 November 2025, marking a significant milestone in his already illustrious career.

This year’s edition of the London Jazz Festival will run from 12 to 24 November 2025, featuring a global lineup of artists from various genres and traditions. Adekunle Gold will be the only Nigerian and African act on the festival bill, underscoring his unique crossover appeal and international recognition.
The performance will see Adekunle Gold share the stage with the Guildhall Session Orchestra, offering fans a rare opportunity to experience his music through a new sonic lens. Known for his innovative fusion of Afrobeats, pop, and highlife, the artist is set to present a reimagined orchestral interpretation of his timeless hits demonstrating yet another dimension of his celebrated stagemanship.

Since breaking into the Nigerian mainstream over a decade ago with ‘Sade’ a culturally rich reinterpretation of One Direction’s ‘Story of My Life’ Adekunle Gold has grown into one of the continent’s most versatile and consistent talents. With critically acclaimed albums such as Gold and About 30, he gave modern Nigerian folk music a distinctive identity. He later reinvented himself as a chart-topping pop star with Afro Pop Vol. 1 and Catch Me If You Can.
His fifth studio album, Tequila Ever After, further cemented his reputation as a genre-fusing maestro, showcasing a musicality and lyrical depth that resonates across diverse audiences.
Adekunle Gold’s ability to transform his artistic identity while maintaining high-calibre live performances has become a hallmark of his career. In 2023, he made headlines with a daring set at Denmark’s Roskilde Festival a stage traditionally dominated by rock music—becoming one of the few Afrobeats acts to appear there.
