Dr Bashir Idris, Registrar of the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN), has commended President Bola Tinubu for his initiatives aimed at repositioning the nation’s healthcare services.
Idris gave the commendation on Wednesday during the induction of 50 community health practitioners at the College of Health Technology, Foreign Links Campus, Moro, Ile-Ife, Osun State.
The CHPRBN Registrar, who outlined key reforms and interventions implemented in Nigeria’s health sector under Tinubu’s administration, said the efforts were directed towards improving healthcare financing and infrastructure.
Represented by Mr Abayomi Great, the Zonal Technical Officer for the South West, Idris urged the inductees to consistently support government efforts to revitalise the healthcare sector.

According to him, regardless of the challenges they may face, the inductees should remain diligent, professional, and committed to upholding ethical standards in the discharge of their duties.
Earlier, Dr Nsikak Akpan, Provost of the College, while congratulating the inductees, emphasised that they were not merely health workers but also educators and counsellors expected to serve as vital change agents within the healthcare system.
“You will serve in challenging environments, face limited resources, and at times encounter scepticism or resistance. In those moments, remember the sacred oath you have taken to serve with integrity, compassion, and unwavering professionalism.
“Let your conduct uphold the dignity of the profession. Let your competence restore trust in primary healthcare, and let your compassion bring healing where it is most needed.
“Remember, healthcare is not merely a job; it is a calling a call to save lives, restore health, dignify humanity, and give hope to the sick and vulnerable. Do not betray that calling,” he said.
Also speaking, the institution’s Registrar, Mrs Clara Akinosun, urged the inductees to prioritise the health and wellbeing of members of their communities
“You are to bridge the gap between the people and the healthcare system.
“You will face challenges such as lack of resources, poor infrastructure, and inadequate amenities. However, your commitment, patience, and unwavering trust will make a difference in improving public health outcomes.
“You are a cornerstone of your community. Seek continuous knowledge to become more effective, be a worthy ambassador of this institution, and be a blessing to your community,”she said.
