In a bid to strengthen cross-cultural collaboration and foster international growth in Nigeria’s creative industry, the National President of the Association of Movie Producers of Nigeria (AMP), Amb. Dr Queen Blessing Ebigieson has held a strategic meeting with the Acting High Commissioner of India to Nigeria, Ms Vartika Rawat, at the Indian High Commission in Abuja.

The meeting, which focused on strategic collaboration between Nollywood and Bollywood, explored mutual interests in areas such as film co-production, training, technology exchange, and cultural storytelling.

Amb. Dr Ebigieson described the engagement as “A historic opportunity to build lasting partnerships that will elevate the profile and capacity of Nigerian filmmakers.”

India and Nigeria share a rich cinematic heritage. This collaboration will not only open doors for joint ventures but also create opportunities for knowledge sharing, especially in areas like post-production, distribution, and digital platforms,” she noted.

The AMP President was accompanied by Mr Desmond Utomwen, the association’s Publicity Secretary in the FCT, and Ambassador Imaobong Abia, former FCT Chairman of the Association.

We are excited about the potential of deeper engagement with Nigeria’s vibrant creative sector. India welcomes initiatives that promote cultural exchange and economic growth through the arts,” she said.

The meeting marks a significant step towards formalising partnerships between Bollywood and Nollywood and signals a promising future for Nigerian filmmakers seeking international collaboration and exposure.
