Nigerian actress and film producer Omoni Oboli has sparked lively reactions on social media following a witty post she shared in the aftermath of the 2025 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).

Taking to her Instagram handle, @omonioboli, Oboli playfully appealed for assistance, writing:
“Now that AMVCA is over, please, I need a favour; those clothes people wore, can they borrow me? I need to shoot a big wedding scene in a movie, and they will be nice as costumes.”

The post, which was received with amusement, quickly gained traction, with fans and fellow celebrities praising her humour, creativity, and keen sense of production strategy.

The comment section was flooded with heart-eyed and laughing emojis, light-hearted exchanges, and offers of support. One user, @mbasitijesse, asked if she could help tag the celebrities whose outfits were being referenced. Another, @menathomaz, jokingly suggested that the stars simply attend the shoot as guests in the same outfits. Meanwhile, @ify_o offered to start sourcing the costumes, provided they were for ‘Odogwu and Achalugo’s wedding’.

Oboli’s reference to the fictional wedding of ‘Odogwu and Achalugo’ was a nod to her recent Nollywood hit Love in Every Word, which premiered on YouTube in March and has already amassed over 24 million views in two months. The film features the characters Obiora and Chioma, affectionately known as Odogwu and Achalugo.

While it remains uncertain whether any celebrities will lend their red carpet outfits, Oboli’s playful request subtly highlighted the high calibre and cost of AMVCA fashion—and how such glamour could easily double as movie-worthy wardrobe.
