Tiwa Savage Releases 15-Track Studio Album After Five-Year

Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has released her long-awaited fourth studio album, This One Is Personal, her first full-length project in five years.

The 15-track album, which debuted on digital streaming platforms on Friday, captures themes of love, heartbreak, resilience, and self-discovery, delivered through what fans have described as scintillating Afro-fusion sounds.

Tracks on the album include I’m Done, Angel Dust, You4Me, On the Low featuring Skepta, Holding It Down, 10%, and Twisted. Others are Scared of Love, Pray No More, Addicted featuring Taves, This One Is Personal (Interlude), Will I Run Again?, For One Night, You’re Not the First, and Change featuring James Fauntleroy.

True to its title, the project keeps features to a minimum, with only three guest artists Skepta, Taves, and James Fauntleroy chosen specifically for their ability to complement Savage’s vision without overshadowing it.

Announcing the release on her X (formerly Twitter) account, the self-acclaimed “Number One African Bad Girl” revealed that the album was recorded across Nashville, London, San Francisco, and Lagos.

“This project is so close to my heart and I poured every part of me into it. I just pray you receive it with the same love I created it with. Please cherish it, because This One Is Personal. This album is my story, so I kept the features limited. I wanted you all to feel me in every song,” she wrote.

In a Fan Q&A session on X, Savage explained that her choice of collaborators was deliberate: “The few features I chose were very intentional, with people who understood the vision and could add to the message without taking away from its intimacy. It’s less about numbers and more about connection.”

Savage, whose last studio album was released in 2020, said her new project reflects the personal journey she has taken over the past five years  balancing career transitions, motherhood, and self-discovery.
