Nollywood giants Inkblot Studios and Filmhouse Group are set to launch KAVA, an innovative and first streaming platform exclusively dedicated to Nollywood films and African storytelling.
The announcement was made via a joint Instagram post by both companies, revealing that the platform will be launched globally in August 2025.
According to the post, KAVA will offer weekly releases of new content, providing viewers worldwide with a consistent stream of fresh, high-quality, cinema-standard entertainment.
The statement reads:
“KAVA: the first global streaming platform for Nollywood, powered by Inkblot Studios and Filmhouse Group.
Nollywood is the world’s second-largest film industry. But until now, it hasn’t had its own global streaming home. KAVA changes that.”
The platform will debut with over 30 premium Nollywood titles, including Queen Lateefah, House Job, Alakada: Bad and Bougie, Owambe Thieves, What About Us, among others.

The promoters of KAVA said the platform is designed to revolutionise the way African stories are told, shared, and celebrated. It seeks to address the challenge of fragmented Nollywood content by providing a single, global hub for Nigerian narratives while ensuring fair compensation for content creators.
The launch of KAVA, a fully indigenous streaming service, comes at a time when international streaming platforms dominate the film distribution space.
KAVA aims to spotlight authentic African stories and provide a long-overdue digital home for Nigerian content, ensuring that Nollywood continues to thrive, expand its global reach, and tell its stories on its own terms.
