President Bola Tinubu has congratulated prominent pro-democracy advocate and legal practitioner, Ms Ayo Obe, on the occasion of her 70th birthday.

In a statement issued by the Presidency, President Tinubu lauded Ms Obe’s unwavering patriotism and enduring commitment to human rights, which have defined her decades of service and advocacy for a just and equitable society.

“Your life of commitment, versatility, and diligence in service marked by years of courageous struggle against injustice and human rights violations, culminated in your role alongside like-minded citizens in challenging military dictatorship during Nigeria’s darkest hours, often at great personal risk. This is deeply appreciated,” the President said.

“I recall with pride your contributions to the entrenchment of democracy in our country. Today, we remain committed to nurturing and strengthening that legacy,” he added.
