A political group rallying support for Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State ahead of the 2027 presidential election, the Brave New Vision Support Group, has called on members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-West to rally behind his candidacy.
Speaking to newsmen, the group’s Convener and PDP chieftain, Dr Adetokunbo Pearse, stressed the need for the zone to ensure that Makinde emerges as the party’s presidential flagbearer in 2027.

Pearse appealed to the newly inaugurated South-West PDP Zonal Executive Committee, led by Alhaji Kamorudeen Ajisafe, to prioritise mobilising support for the governor’s emergence as the party’s standard-bearer.
“The main objective of any political party is to win elections in order to implement policies that will enhance the well-being of the people,” Pearse said.
“As we approach the 2027 election cycle, the immediate task before Ajisafe and his team is to unite the South-West PDP and strengthen the party’s structures to ensure victory at all levels.
“Governor Makinde remains our most viable candidate for the presidency in 2027. We must commit to realising this vision.
“The zonal executive must act swiftly by building collaboration across all regions and galvanising support for Makinde as a means of delivering hope to the people,” he added.
