Nollywood filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele has collaborated with  Facebook to showcase Nigerian storytelling to global audiences through the London and Lagos premieres of her latest film, The Four: No One Fights Alone.

Akindele announced the collaboration on her social media platforms, confirming the partnership in a post on her verified Instagram account on Thursday.

She said the initiative would help expand the film’s reach and give audiences access to exclusive updates and behind-the-scenes moments.

“We’re taking THE FOUR to the world, and Facebook is coming with us,” she said.

The actress also expressed excitement about working with the social media platform, acknowledging the support she had received from fans over the years.

She encouraged followers to stay updated through her three Facebook pages: Funke Akindele, Official Funke Akindele and FAANTV, where she said exclusive content and information about the film would be shared.

The collaboration will support the film’s world premiere in London and its homecoming premiere in Lagos, with creators, celebrities and audiences expected to take part.

Meta’s Head of Communications for Sub-Saharan Africa, Oluwasola Obagbemi, said the partnership would highlight Facebook’s role in helping creators connect with their audiences and develop communities around shared interests.

“Facebook has always been about connecting people, and our partnership with Funke Akindele brings that to life through film,” Obagbemi said.

He said the platform also provides opportunities for creators to reach international audiences, strengthen relationships with fans and generate income from their content.

The initiative will further showcase Nigerian creators in the country and the diaspora.

As part of the collaboration, a creator-hosted space at the premieres will produce social media content highlighting how creators use Facebook to engage younger audiences and promote Nigerian stories and culture to people across the world.
