Barcelona manager Hansi Flick conceded that Paris St Germain were deserved winners in their 2-1 Champions League victory at the Montjuïc Olympic Stadium on Wednesday, admitting his side fell short in key areas.
Ferran Torres gave Barça a 19th-minute lead, but 19-year-old Senny Mayulu equalised before substitute Gonçalo Ramos struck a 90th-minute winner for PSG, who were missing several first-team players.
“Today, I don’t think we can say we’re on the same level,” Flick said in his post-match press conference. “We didn’t show our best side. After 35 minutes, PSG took control of the match. They deserved the win.”

The German coach highlighted fatigue and defensive lapses as decisive factors in the second half, where PSG dominated possession and created the better chances.
“With the score at 1-1, you need better structure in defence,” he said. “We lacked organisation and didn’t make good use of possession. These are things we must learn and improve.”
Flick also praised individual performances, singling out Eric Garcia, but stressed that Barcelona must defend and attack as a unit for the full 90 minutes to compete at Champions League level.
