Yobe Desert Stars and Doma United have secured qualification for the 2025 Nigeria National League (NNL) Super Eight playoffs, after emerging as the top two teams in Northern Conference Group D.

Yobe Desert Stars claimed the top spot with 20 points following a crucial 1–0 home victory over Basira FC at the August 27 Stadium in Damaturu. The win capped off an impressive group stage performance by the Desert Stars, who will now look to maintain their form heading into the decisive playoff stage.

Doma United, who were relegated from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) last season, finished second in the group with 19 points, thereby keeping alive their hopes of an immediate return to the top flight.

Both teams will now compete in the NNL Super Eight playoffs, which will determine the four clubs to be promoted to the NPFL next season.

Meanwhile, it was a disappointment for Adamawa United, who were relegated to the Nationwide League One after finishing at the bottom of the group table.
