Bauchi Governor Appoints 168 Aides to Strengthen Governance

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has approved the appointment of 168 new aides to various positions across the state.

The appointments, announced on Tuesday, include: five Principal Special Assistants on Political and Community Relations; one Principal Special Assistant on Pension Matters; 60 Senior Special Assistants on Political and Community Relations; one Senior Special Assistant on Labour Matters; 38 Special Assistants on Political and Community Relations; and 63 Personal Assistants (PAs) on Political and Community Relations.

The list of appointees was provided in a press release signed by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado. He stated that the appointments were part of the Governor’s efforts to ensure greater inclusion, enhance service delivery, and foster a government that reflects the diverse interests and aspirations of the people of Bauchi State.

Gidado further noted that the appointees, many of whom are former political officeholders at national, state, and local government levels, were selected for their proven experience, leadership skills, and political backgrounds.

The new aides, who represent various groups across the 20 local government areas of the state, are expected to support the Governor’s vision of creating a responsive and effective government.

In his remarks, Governor Mohammed congratulated the appointees and urged them to approach their new roles with dedication and a people-centred focus. He emphasised the importance of loyalty and service to the people of Bauchi, describing the appointments as a call to contribute to the state’s growth and development.

“With these new appointments, we are confident that our administration will be better positioned to build on its achievements and create a legacy of good governance, inclusivity, and sustainable development,” the Governor said.

The appointments take immediate effect as the Governor moves forward with plans to solidify his administration’s legacy.
