Angelique Kidjo, a Beninese-French singer and actress, is set to be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The multi-Grammy Award winner was named among 36 individuals to be recognised with a star on the iconic Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles.
This milestone makes Kidjo the first African musician to receive a star on the Walk of Fame, a fitting tribute to her enduring legacy as one of Africa’s most celebrated and influential musical figures.
Other notable recipients on the 2025 list include Grammy-winning stars Miley Cyrus, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, The Clark Sisters, and Lyle Lovett.
The 64-year-old has been singing for over three decades, during which she has released more than 15 albums and earned five Grammy Awards from 15 nominations. She also holds the Guinness World Record for the most global music album awards won at the Grammys.
