The Nigerian Government has officially unveiled the Sustainable Energy Access Project (SEAP), a transformative initiative designed to provide affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy solutions to communities across Nigeria’s 774 Local Government Areas.
The launch event, held on Tuesday at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, marked a major milestone in the implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Delivering the keynote address, the Honourable Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, described SEAP as a bold step towards unlocking local economic potential through decentralised energy solutions and inclusive technological advancement.
“This project is about much more than powering homes. It’s about powering dreams, industries, communities, and the future of our nation,” the Minister stated.
He noted that SEAP is designed to create “islands of economic prosperity” nationwide by empowering farmers, entrepreneurs, families, and entire communities with clean cooking solutions, productive power, sustainable transportation, and digital tools for growth.
Chief Nnaji emphasised that poverty cannot be defeated by charity alone, but by creating enabling conditions for prosperity through grassroots access to energy, economic productivity, and technological innovation.

SEAP, he said, stands as a shining example of what strategic collaboration can deliver. He commended the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Aspitah Global Resources Ltd, Data Analytics & Solutions International Ltd, and CCK for their dedication to actualising the project.
The Minister also extended an invitation to local governments, private sector players, investors, and community leaders to support and expand the initiative across the country and the continent.
“Let us move forward with purpose. Let us deliver SEAP, not just for today’s Nigeria, but for generations yet unborn,” he concluded.
