Five-time world champions, the Golden Eaglets, have advanced to the semi-finals of the football competition at the 22nd National Sports Festival, currently taking place in Ogun State.
Abdulmuiz Adeleke, who scored in the 2–1 victory over Edo State on Monday, delivered a standout performance with a brace in Friday morning’s quarter-final clash against Ebonyi State. The Eaglets triumphed 5–0 to book their place in the final four.
Mohammed Imrana, who also scored against Edo, added his name to the scoresheet once again, though he was later sent off in the final minutes. Destiny Samuel and Emmanuel Ochigbo completed the scoring.

Meanwhile, in the female category, the Flamingos were held to a goalless draw by Lagos State on Thursday. They top Group B with five points ahead of their final group-stage fixture against bottom-placed Enugu State.
Delta and Lagos States trail closely behind with four points each.
In Group A, Osun State lead with seven points, followed by Ogun and Edo States with five and four points respectively.
