FAAN Conducts Mandatory Disaster Simulation at Abuja Airport

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), in partnership with Paystack, will on 29 September 2025 commence the rollout of Operation Go Cashless, a cashless and contactless payment system across all airports, starting with Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Under the new arrangement, all payments at FAAN revenue points, such as airport access gates, car parks, VIP, and protocol lounges, will be processed electronically. Travellers and airport users will be able to make “fast and seamless” transactions through a secure digital platform.

FAAN said the initiative is designed to meet the rising demand for modern, safe, and transparent payment systems, while keeping Nigeria’s airports in line with global digital standards. The agency added that the shift from cash will “enhance efficiency, improve revenue assurance, and provide a better customer experience.”

To support the transition, brand ambassadors have been stationed at airport access gates and terminals to guide users, demonstrate the process, and respond to questions.

Passengers will also be able to obtain a FAAN Go Cashless Card at access gates in Lagos and Abuja. After collection, they are advised to activate and fund the cards by visiting www.gocashless.faan.gov.ng.
