In a move aimed at reinforcing compliance with its technology acquisition regulations and promoting sustainable capacity development, the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) has signed a strategic agreement with Revass Systems Limited.

Speaking at the signing ceremony in Abuja, the Director-General of NOTAP, Dr Obiageli Amadiobi, stated that the partnership underlines the agency’s core mission of ensuring imported technologies align with Nigeria’s broader national interests, particularly in promoting local content, nurturing indigenous talent, and creating sustainable employment.

According to a statement issued by NOTAP’s Assistant Chief Information Officer, Raymond Onyenezi Ogbu, the agreement mandates Revass Systems to design, develop, deploy, and manage a secure digital revenue collection system for the agency. The system will be in compliance with the NOTAP Act, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) financial regulations, the policies of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), and other relevant laws.

Dr Amadiobi noted that the initiative is expected to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in NOTAP’s revenue operations, while also equipping staff through structured training and technology transfer.

This partnership marks a significant step in ensuring that technologies entering Nigeria not only comply with our laws but also support the nation’s developmental priorities,” she said.

She further emphasised that every agreement registered by NOTAP must contribute to critical skills development, job creation, and the growth of local businesses.

The Director-General reiterated that the agreement supports the strategic objectives of the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, as well as President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to transform Nigeria into a knowledge-driven economy founded on home-grown expertise, collaborative partnerships, and globally competitive talent.

No meaningful development can take place in vital sectors of our economy without technology. That is why the agency is committed to deploying technology across its operations to improve service delivery,” she added.
