Kwara Sports Commission Dissolves State Sports Associations

The Kwara State Sports Commission has announced the immediate dissolution of all sports associations in the state.

This was contained in a statement issued in Ilorin by the Commission’s Press Secretary, Saheed Abdullahi.

According to the statement, the decision was taken at the Commission’s sitting on 12 September 2025, presided over by its Chairman, Coach Bolakale Mogaji, during which members deliberated extensively on the status of the associations before approving their dissolution.

“The dissolution became necessary in order to inject new, committed and passionate members into the associations while retaining some of the former active ones for effective and efficient service delivery,” the statement explained.

The Commission directed all affected members to immediately hand over documents, records, and materials belonging to their respective associations to the secretaries, as part of the dissolution process.

While thanking the former members for their support and contributions, the Commission appealed to them to continue to respond positively to its calls whenever necessary.
