Members of the CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Technical Study Group, Daniel Amokachi, Walter Steenbok, and Mohamed Magassouba, along with two international scouts, are scheduled to hold a media briefing at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo on Sunday, 11th May.
The briefing, set for 11:30 local time (08:30 GMT), will present the group’s technical assessment of the tournament’s group stages. Swiss club FC Sion scout Romain Albaric and Bennard Yao Kumordzi of Belgian side K.R.C. Genk will also share their evaluations of team performances and standout players.
The experienced panel will provide in-depth insights into tactical patterns, playing styles, and emerging talents identified during the competition.
Daniel Amokachi, a former Nigeria international and Premier League player with Everton, is well known for his two goals at the 1994 FIFA World Cup and his coaching stints with the Nigerian national team.

Walter Steenbok, formerly Technical Director at the South African Football Association, is a highly respected figure in African football with a strong coaching pedigree.
Mohamed Magassouba brings more than three decades of coaching experience and previously managed Mali’s national team from 2019 to 2022, having earlier led the Democratic Republic of Congo.
All five experts are expected to provide valuable perspectives to the media and contribute to a deeper understanding of the tournament’s technical and tactical dimensions.
