IGP Appoints AIG Nkechi Eze as Director, Force Medical Services

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has approved the appointment of AIG Nkechi Eze as the first Director of the newly upgraded Directorate of Force Medical Services, a move aimed at institutionalising comprehensive healthcare for police personnel.

The appointment follows the recent elevation of the Force Medical Section into a full-fledged Directorate, reflecting the Force’s commitment to police reforms and enhanced welfare for officers.

AIG Eze, a distinguished clinician, dental surgeon, and administrator, brings over 27 years of service to her new role. She hails from Agbudu in Enugu State, earned a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) from the University of Benin. Her career spans key postings across Oyo, Ekiti, Rivers, the Federal Capital Territory, and Lagos, where she significantly advanced police healthcare services.

IGP Egbetokun congratulated AIG Eze and urged her to leverage her experience to position the Directorate as a model of excellence in police healthcare delivery. He stressed that investing in officers’ health and welfare is central to the operational efficiency of the Nigeria Police Force.
