Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has donated ₦5 million to each of the families of eight Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) members who recently lost their lives in an explosion along the Dikwa–Marte road, after their vehicle struck an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the area.

Zulum made the announcement on Friday during a condolence visit to the families of the deceased in Maiduguri. He also offered full educational scholarships to their children.

The CJTF is a volunteer security outfit that supports military efforts against insurgents in Borno State and across the North-East.

” I want to announce a financial assistance of N5 million to each of the bereaved families to cater for their immediate needs.

” Furthermore, the Borno Government will provide full educational scholarship to all children of the deceased CJTF members.

” For those who left no children, we shall extend assistance to their close family members,” he said.

Zulum noted that the gesture was part of his administration’s ongoing support for the families of security personnel and CJTF operatives who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the defence of the people.

He described the fallen men as martyrs and praised their courage in protecting their communities, assuring that their bravery would not be forgotten.

He also prayed for the peaceful repose of their souls and encouraged the bereaved families to draw strength from the heroic legacy left behind.
