The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new system that allows candidates to have their O’Level results verified directly with examination bodies, beginning with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
Under the new arrangement, candidates can upload their O’Level results from home, while JAMB verifies the submitted information against records held by the relevant examination bodies.
The Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol at JAMB, Dr Fabian Benjamin, said the initiative was part of the Board’s efforts to make its services faster, safer and more convenient for candidates.
Benjamin said the technology-driven process would reduce the need for candidates to visit Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres, thereby cutting down on queues and manual procedures.

He said the system would also address problems linked to manual O’Level result uploads, including misplaced documents, incorrect subject or grade entries and the submission of unverified or fraudulent results.
According to him, JAMB’s e-Facility platform has been integrated with examination bodies, allowing candidates’ results to be checked against official records before verified results are uploaded to their profiles.
How to Verify O’Level Results
Candidates are required to visit the designated result verification platform, enter their National Identification Number (NIN) and select the number of examination sittings and relevant examination body or bodies.
They must then provide their email address and GSM number, make the required payment and enter their examination number, examination series and examination year.
After successful verification, candidates will receive a verification code.
How to Upload Verified Results
Candidates should send “VERIFY” followed by their verification code to 55019 or 66019. The verified result will then be uploaded and a notification sent to the candidate.
Candidates with two examination sittings will be required to log into their JAMB e-Facility profile and select the “2026 UTME O’Level Upload” option.
They can then enter their verification code and select the required subjects from their verified results.
JAMB said candidates must select at least five subjects and no more than nine, with no subject selected more than once, before submitting the results.
Benjamin said the new verification system would provide candidates with a more convenient option, particularly during periods of heavy traffic and network difficulties at CBT centres.
He added that the initiative reflected the commitment of JAMB Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, to building a more technology-driven and candidate-focused service system.
The Board, he said, would continue to work with examination bodies and relevant government agencies to simplify its processes and make its services more secure and accessible to candidates.
