President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended birthday congratulations to the Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), Dr Zacch Adedeji, applauding his transformative leadership of the country’s revenue agency.
In a statement issued by the Presidential Spokesperson, the President praised Dr Adedeji for introducing innovative ideas and international best practices into the 83-year-old institution.
He highlighted the automation of key systems and the upskilling of personnel as major steps taken to improve efficiency and support national development.
President Tinubu described the NRS Chairman as a visionary and charismatic leader whose commitment has driven the restructuring, alignment and strengthening of Nigeria’s revenue architecture.
He noted that the agency, under Adedeji’s leadership, achieved a historic feat by meeting its budgetary targets in the third quarter of 2025, a milestone he said had played a significant role in boosting economic growth and prosperity.
The President also commended Adedeji for his contribution to the adoption of the National Single Window, a major federal digital platform aimed at streamlining import and export procedures, enhancing transparency and reducing cargo clearance time from 21 days to just one week.
Dr Adedeji has built a distinguished career across both the private and public sectors. He previously held senior management roles at Procter & Gamble, served as Commissioner for Finance in Oyo State, and was Executive Secretary of the National Sugar Development Council, where he established the National Sugar Institute.
Prior to his appointment as Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service in September 2023, he served as Special Adviser to the President on Revenue.
President Tinubu prayed for God’s continued blessings upon Dr Adedeji, wishing him many more years of good health, wisdom and strength in service to the nation.
