Manchester City have completed the signing of Ghanaian winger Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth, securing the Premier League’s in-form attacker on a long-term deal running until 2031.
Although the club did not reveal the financial terms, reports in the British media indicate that City triggered Semenyo’s £65 million release clause, fending off interest from several rival Premier League sides. The move makes the 26-year-old City’s first acquisition of the January transfer window.
Semenyo arrives at the Etihad Stadium after an impressive campaign with Bournemouth, where his pace, power and versatility have stood out. Capable of operating on either flank, he has enjoyed a prolific season, scoring 10 league goals and providing three assists, placing him among the division’s leading scorers.

Speaking after completing the transfer, Semenyo said the opportunity to work under Pep Guardiola played a decisive role in his decision. He described Manchester City as the benchmark of English football over the past decade, praising the club’s culture, facilities and sustained success across domestic and European competitions.
The winger added that joining City comes at an ideal moment in his career, noting that he believes his best years are still ahead of him. Semenyo expressed confidence that the environment at the club will allow him to continue developing and competing at the highest level.
City, who are pushing for further domestic and continental honours, will hope Semenyo’s attacking threat adds fresh impetus to Guardiola’s squad as the season progresses.
