The Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, has disclosed that over 90,000 applications have been received for the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme.
Dr Alausa made the announcement via his X handle on Tuesday, noting that the impressive number of applications was recorded less than a week after the portal for the initiative was launched.
He described the response as an incredible demonstration of interest in skills development across Nigeria, adding that the Ministry was delighted by the overwhelming enthusiasm for the TVET scheme.

The Minister advised applicants to ensure that the names on their Bank Verification Number (BVN) and National Identification Number (NIN) match, in order to avoid delays in processing. He also assured the public that the government is working to address other issues encountered during registration.
The TVET initiative was officially launched on 30 May to equip young Nigerians with industry-relevant skills for self-reliance and improved employability.
