Governor Francis Nwifuru has commended the notable transformation across the infrastructural, commerce, education, and health sectors in the state.
He made the remarks during the Second Anniversary Thanksgiving service held on Sunday to mark the May 29 celebration in Abakaliki.
The governor highlighted the successful execution of policies and programmes in these key areas, which have brought significant benefits to the state.
Nwifuru emphasised that these efforts are aimed at improving citizens’ lives and delivering visible progress.

In the education sector, he stated the state’s commitment to developing human capital through investment in education. About 270 students have been sponsored for Masters and Doctorate programmes abroad, with plans to increase this number to 300.
He said, “We have championed the importance of investing in infrastructure projects.”
Regarding health, the governor noted the increase of N500,000 in monthly allowances for medical doctors working in general hospitals across the state as a vital part of strengthening the healthcare system.
Nwifuru also urged the people to continually pray for the nation’s leaders and expressed gratitude to former governors, founding fathers, religious leaders, and other government officials for their contributions to the state’s development.
