The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced the successful upgrade of its diaspora National Identification Number (NIN) platform to enhance service delivery.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by Dr Kayode Adegoke, Head of Corporate Communications at NIMC, on Monday in Lagos.
Adegoke explained that the upgraded platform is designed to facilitate the smooth management of NIN enrolment for Nigerians living abroad.
He highlighted that the new system offers a seamless, secure, efficient, and robust service experience for diaspora Nigerians applying for or managing their NIN.
According to him, NIMC’s Diaspora Front-End Partners (FEPs) have been onboarded onto the upgraded platform and have undergone intensive training to equip them with the necessary knowledge to effectively use and manage the system.
However, all diaspora FEPs are required to obtain and activate their NIN enrolment licences on the new platform within 48 hours.

Diaspora applicants can access enrolment services through compliant FEPs.
“The commission apologises for any inconvenience caused during the upgrade process and has established a dedicated service team to address any issues related to diaspora enrolment,” Adegoke stated.
Applicants experiencing difficulties with NIN enrolment are encouraged to contact the Commission via nimccustomercare@nimc.gov.ng for prompt assistance.
Adegoke added that applicants can find the nearest enrolment centres on the NIMC website, www.nimc.gov.ng, and proceed to enrol.
He noted that NIN enrolment is ongoing across all centres in Nigeria.
“Nigerians both at home and abroad can also update their NIN data through the https://selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng portal.
“NIN holders are encouraged to download the NIMC NINAuth App, available on iOS and Google Play Store, to instantly verify their NINs.
“The app allows users to control who can access their information and offers seamless verification and authentication services,” Adegoke explained.
