A member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mr Solomon Akwashiki, has pledged to dedicate the remaining two years of his tenure to sponsoring bills and motions that will benefit his constituents.

Mr Akwashiki made the commitment on Friday in Lafia during a solidarity visit by youth groups from Lafia North, East, and Central. The visiting groups included the Akye Youth Association, Aridi Youth Mobilisation, and Tudun Amba Youth Association.

The lawmaker expressed gratitude for the visit, describing it as a morale booster.

“This visit will inspire me to build on the gains already achieved in areas such as job creation, youth and women empowerment, scholarships for indigent students, and provision of clean drinking water,” he said.

He added that his commitment to public service is driven by a passion for humanity and improving lives. He also revealed plans to sponsor a bill for the establishment of a General Hospital in Lafia to address the healthcare gap created by the relocation of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital to Akwanga.

Describing young people as the backbone of society, Akwashiki advised them to shun negative influences and remain law-abiding. He called on them to support the current administration in its efforts to deliver democratic dividends.

Earlier, leaders of the youth groups commended the lawmaker for his performance and urged him to sustain the momentum. Mr Inuwa Musa, National President of the Akye Youth Association; Mr Fidelis Usman, spokesperson for Aridi Youth Mobilisation for Mr Project; and Mr Timothy Abbas, Coordinator of Tudun Amba Youth Association, all pledged their support for Akwashiki’s continued leadership.
