Unity Cup Final

Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has departed the team’s camp in London and returned to Nigeria due to personal reasons.

Musa was absent from Thursday’s training session, which also saw several players opting out ahead of Saturday’s 2025 Unity Cup final in London.

The Super Eagles had earlier secured a 2–1 victory over Ghana’s Black Stars on Wednesday at the GTech Community Stadium in one of the tournament’s fixtures.

Wilfred Ndidi, Cyril Dessers, and Semi Ajayi also missed training, while players who featured prominently in the win against Ghana undertook light recovery exercises.

Benjamin Fredrick, a former player for Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC and Nigeria U20 international, was seen at the training ground despite not being in the initial squad.

Fredrick, currently with English Premier League club Brentford, took part in the session and other activities led by Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, who focused on tactical preparations.

Nigeria will face Jamaica in the Unity Cup final on Saturday. The Jamaican team earned their spot after a 3–2 win over Trinidad and Tobago.
