Katsina Governor Celebrates Abdulsalami’s Legacy at 83

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has celebrated former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd), on the occasion of his 83rd birthday, describing him as a symbol of peace, patriotism, and exemplary leadership.

In a congratulatory message, Governor Radda praised Abdulsalami’s pivotal role in Nigeria’s return to democratic governance in 1999 and his continued commitment to national unity and dialogue.

“General Abdulsalam Abubakar is one of Nigeria’s most selfless leaders at a critical moment in our nation’s history, he chose the country over personal ambition, steering Nigeria back to civilian rule and earning global respect as a democracy champion”, Radda declared.

“You remain a beacon of hope and stability in Nigeria’s political landscape,” the governor said. “Your wisdom and calm presence have helped guide the nation through challenging times.”

He added that Abdulsalami’s contributions to conflict resolution, particularly through his peacebuilding foundation and mediation efforts, have earned him admiration across Africa and beyond.

Governor Radda wished the former leader continued good health and long life in service to the nation and humanity.
