Team Delta leads the medals table on Day 6 of the ongoing 22nd National Sports Festival (NSF), tagged Gateway Games 2024, held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Delta State has secured 34 gold, 12 silver, and 28 bronze medals to maintain a comfortable lead, with Team Bayelsa in second place, boasting 32 gold, 14 silver, and 15 bronze medals. Team Rivers occupies third position with 15 gold, 12 silver, and 13 bronze medals.
Team Ogun is fourth with 11 gold, 14 silver and 17 bronze medals, while Oyo rounds out the top five with 10 gold, 11 silver and 16 bronze medals.

So far, a total of 495 medals have been won by participating states in the sports festival.
The NSF is a biennial multi-sport event organised by the Federal Government, bringing together athletes from all 36 states and the FCT to compete across various sports, fostering national unity, sportsmanship and excellence throughout Nigeria.
