The Alumni Association of the Federal University Dutse (FUD) has extended its congratulations to the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdulkarim Sabo, following the approval of 26 new academic programmes by the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC).
This was disclosed in a statement released on Tuesday by the association’s president, Mr Bashir Kassim, and shared with journalists in Dutse.
Kassim also commended Prof. Sabo on the N1 billion grant secured from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for the establishment of innovation hubs at the university.
“The FUD Alumni Association, under the leadership of Comrade Bashir Kassim, proudly congratulates the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdulkarim Sabo, and his principal officers on the recent approval by the NUC of 26 new academic programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels,” the statement read.
He described the milestone as a testament to the Vice-Chancellor’s visionary leadership, the strategic foresight of the Directorate of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, and the dedication of various units within the university.
According to him, the development marks a significant step forward in broadening academic opportunities and enhancing the university’s competitiveness both nationally and globally.

“Furthermore, the Alumni Association extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Vice-Chancellor and the entire university community on the award of N1 billion by the Federal Government for the establishment of innovation hubs and technology parks.
“This outstanding achievement will serve as a catalyst for technological innovation, research, and entrepreneurship, further solidifying FUD’s status as a forward-thinking institution.
“As a body committed to the sustained growth and prestige of our alma mater, we are confident that these achievements will inspire a new era of excellence.

Kassim commended the Vice-Chancellor, the University Governing Council, and the management team for their focused and purposeful leadership.
He noted that the university is steadily advancing towards meeting international benchmarks in teaching, research, and innovation.
The FUD Alumni President also expressed appreciation to the NUC and TETFund for their continued trust and investment in the university.
He urged current and prospective students to continue to choose FUD as a thriving centre of academic distinction where future leaders and innovators are nurtured.
