President Bola Tinubu has approved an Expanded Special Session of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) Meeting to be held on Thursday in honour of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died on Sunday.
This was contained in a statement issued by Malam Rabiu Ibrahim, Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, on Wednesday in Abuja.
“The Special FEC Meeting will take place at the Council Chambers, Presidential Villa, Abuja, at 5:00 p.m.
“This will follow the Third-Day Prayer for the late former president at his residence in Daura, Katsina State, with the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, leading a Federal Government delegation for the prayers.
“The meeting will be attended by the leadership of the National Assembly the Senate and the House of Representatives the Judiciary, and representatives of the late president’s family.”

According to the statement, additional activities are scheduled for Friday and Sunday in honour of the late president.
“Furthermore, on Friday, 18 July, a Special Prayer Session will be held at the National Mosque, Abuja, in his honour.
“On Sunday, 20 July, a Special Church Service will be conducted,” the statement added.
