The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has extended warm felicitations to officers, soldiers, and their families on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, commending their unwavering commitment, gallantry, and selfless service to the nation.

His goodwill message was conveyed in a statement released in Abuja on Friday by the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele.

The COAS praised Nigerian Army personnel for their resilience in confronting the numerous security challenges facing the country, describing them as symbols of courage and sacrifice who continue to inspire national pride and unity.

“Your steadfast commitment, selfless dedication, and resolute determination in the defence of our fatherland are deeply appreciated.

“Eid-el-Kabir reflects the spirit of sacrifice — a virtue that mirrors the daily experience of our soldiers across various operational theatres.

“I encourage you to remain resolute and to draw renewed strength from the spiritual significance of this sacred season,” he said.

Lieutenant General Oluyede noted the gradual return of peace in various parts of the country, attributing the progress to the exceptional bravery, professionalism, and loyalty of troops.

“Many of our gallant warriors bear the scars of battle some visibly, others through painful memories,  and some have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

“We honour their memory and stand in solidarity with their families during this festive period. Their heroism is forever etched in our national consciousness,” he added.
