The Nigerian Defence Academy Officers’ Wives Association (NDAOWA) marked Children’s Day on Tuesday by honouring children of military personnel.
The event was held under the theme, ‘Honouring Our Heroes Through Our Children.’
Mrs Halima Ibrahim, NDAOWA Coordinator, stated, “Today, we gather to recognise the sacrifices and resilience of children, especially those of our military families.

“These young individuals display remarkable strength, resilience, and adaptability, often confronting unique challenges because of their parents’ service.
“Let us acknowledge their courage, determination, and spirit.
“As we pay tribute to our heroes, both living and deceased, we are reminded that their children represent the future.”
Ibrahim emphasised that supporting and nurturing these children is vital to securing a brighter future for both communities and the nation as a whole.
“Let us work together to provide opportunities, care, and guidance to these exceptional young people,” she urged.
She expressed gratitude to the academy’s headquarters for their steadfast support, saying, “The contributions of our partners are deeply appreciated.
“We also recognise the dedication and sacrifices of military families, whose love and support form the foundation of our resilient young heroes’ strength.
“To the children here today, I want you to know that you are seen, heard, and valued.
“Keep shining brightly and pursue your dreams,” she encouraged.
The chairperson’s message to the children conveyed encouragement and pride, emphasising that they are valued and recognised.
