Kano Pillars Football Club has announced the immediate resignation of its Technical Adviser, Usman Abdallah.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the club revealed that Abdallah stepped down citing personal reasons. He reportedly informed the management that he had received a significant opportunity which he said could not be balanced alongside his current role.

Following discussions, both parties mutually agreed that it would be in the club’s best interest for him to vacate the position.

Abdallah was appointed shortly before the commencement of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season. Under his leadership, the club finished ninth in the league, securing 53 points from 38 matches an improvement of six points compared to the previous season.

In an audio message addressed to supporters, Abdallah expressed his appreciation to the club and its fan base.

“I have decided to step down due to a personal development. I had earlier informed the Chairman, and we agreed that it is best for the club to appoint someone who can give full commitment,” he said.

“Although I am stepping aside, I will continue to support Kano Pillars and offer guidance whenever needed.”

He also thanked the club’s management for the opportunity to serve and praised the unwavering support of the fans.

“The fans were a major reason I accepted the role. Their passion and backing were unmatched. I sincerely appreciate them,” he added.

Club Chairman, Ali Muhammad Umar, commended Abdallah for his professionalism and service to the team.

“We thank Coach Usman Abdallah for his contributions and wish him every success in his future endeavours,” he said.
