Kwankwaso Receives Solidarity Visit from Nasarawa LG Residents

Former Kano State Governor and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) leader, Rabiu Kwankwaso, on Sunday welcomed a delegation of residents from Nasarawa Local Government at his Kano residence, in a show of support and solidarity.

Speaking after the visit on X.com, Kwankwaso expressed deep appreciation for the group’s steadfast loyalty amid recent political challenges.

“I reaffirm my heartfelt gratitude for their courage and determination. Even in the face of trials that have tested many, they have chosen to stand with us not for personal gain, but for the collective advancement and well-being of our people,” he said.

Kwankwaso, a central figure in Kano State politics, highlighted that the delegation’s commitment was rooted in the principles of the Kwankwasiyya movement, which embodies his political philosophy and grassroots support across northern Nigeria.

The NNPP leader reassured his supporters that their unity and resolve remained strong, expressing optimism about the party’s future.

“Together, we remain committed to advancing the enduring ideals of Kwankwasiyya. Our journey continues, and by God’s grace and the will of the people, victory is assured,” he added.

The visit comes shortly after reports that Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, along with 21 members of the State House of Assembly, eight federal House of Representatives members, and 44 local government chairmen, resigned from the NNPP on Friday. Their departure was attributed to unresolved leadership disputes and ongoing legal challenges facing the party.
