As the nation continues to mourn the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, paid a condolence visit to his widow, Hajia Aisha Buhari, on Saturday at the Buhari family residence in Daura, Katsina State.
Mrs. Tinubu was accompanied by a high-level delegation including the wives of National Assembly leaders, state governors, ministers, and service chiefs. The group offered prayers for the repose of the former President’s soul and comfort for his family.
The delegation also visited Buhari’s gravesite, where a brief prayer session was held before proceeding to the home of Mamman Daura, a nephew of the late President and respected elder statesman.

Speaking during the visit, the First Lady described the late President Buhari as “a remarkable leader who brought pride to his family, hometown, state, and the entire nation.”
In his response, Mamman Daura expressed deep appreciation for the visit and the respect shown to the late leader.
Later, at the palace of the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk, Mrs. Tinubu extended her condolences to the people of the Emirate, acknowledging the former President as “a distinguished son of the soil.”
In his remarks, the Emir reaffirmed the Emirate’s continued support for the current administration, declaring:
“President Bola Tinubu remains our choice for the 2027 presidential election.”
