Russia launched a series of drone and missile attacks across Ukraine overnight, killing two people in the Kyiv region and striking the southern port city of Odesa for the second consecutive night, officials said on Wednesday.
Governor Mykola Kalashnyk reported on the messaging platform Telegram that a man and a woman were killed in the Kyiv region, while four others, including two children, required medical attention.
Ukraine’s air force said Russia fired an Iskander-M ballistic missile and deployed 146 drones overnight, with air defences intercepting 103 of them.
In Kyiv, a 17-storey residential building was struck, causing minor roof damage and breaking windows on the upper floors, emergency services said.

Odesa, which observed a day of mourning following a drone strike on Tuesday that killed three people, saw three more individuals injured. Serhiy Lysak, head of the city’s military administration, said nearby port infrastructure was also damaged.
Central Ukraine’s Kryvyi Rih was hit by an overnight missile attack, leaving two people injured, according to military administration head Oleksandr Vilkul. The strike “significantly” damaged an infrastructure facility and left nearly 700 buildings without heating.
Russia also targeted the southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia at dawn, Governor Ivan Fedorov reported. Four people were injured, at least 12 residential buildings were damaged, and some electricity was disrupted.
