TVC News has taken a historic step in Nigerian broadcasting by introducing the country’s first set of Artificial Intelligence (AI) news anchors. The AI presenters, unveiled in May 2025, will deliver bulletins in English, Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, and Pidgin, reflecting the network’s commitment to linguistic diversity and technological innovation.
The AI anchors are designed to complement the work of human journalists while enhancing the station’s news coverage and efficiency. TVC Communications, the parent company of TVC News, described the initiative as part of a broader vision to integrate cutting-edge technology into Nigeria’s media space.
“We are excited to be at the forefront of this innovation in Nigeria’s broadcast industry,” said Victoria Ajayi, Chief Executive Officer of TVC Communications.
“Our AI news anchors will enable us to take our news coverage to the next level as we showcase our commitment to leveraging technology to drive growth through innovation.”

Ajayi clarified that the new AI system will not replace human staff, but instead support newsroom operations.
“All content generated by the AI anchors will be reviewed and approved by trained journalists and editors to ensure that we maintain the highest standards of accuracy, balance, and neutrality,” she added.
To address public concerns about misinformation and the misuse of AI technology, the organisation said it had implemented strict editorial oversight, watermarking, and verification processes. It also reiterated its commitment to the Nigerian Broadcasting Code and ethical journalism.
The launch has positioned TVC News as a leader in tech-driven journalism in Africa, setting a new precedent for the future of media on the continent.
