President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup (Ajimoko III) on the occasion of his coronation on Friday in Ilesa as the new Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijeshaland.
The President’s message of felicitation was contained in a press release issued by the State House and signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. The statement highlighted Oba Haastrup’s distinguished career across public service, business, and now traditional leadership.
Describing the newly installed monarch as “a prominent businessman” and “a former politician and deputy governor of the state,” Tinubu praised his life’s journey as one marked by impactful transitions.
“Oba Haastrup’s trajectory from politics to business and now to the custodianship of culture and tradition reflects his leadership qualities, strength of character, and steadfast commitment to our traditional institutions,” the President noted.

President Tinubu expressed confidence in the monarch’s ability to unite and lead his people, describing his ascension to the throne as both a return to heritage and a progressive step for Ijeshaland.
According to the statement,The President urged the traditional ruler to serve as a symbol of cultural heritage and unity among his people, underscoring the pivotal role of traditional leadership in national development.
“President Tinubu encouraged Oba Haastrup to remain a steadfast guardian of our values and to promote unity and harmony in Ijeshaland, Osun State, and the country at large,” the statement continued.
Concluding his message, the President offered prayers for divine guidance and wisdom for the new monarch, expressing hope that the legacy of his forebears would flourish under his reign.
