Mohamed Salah was named Premier League Player of the Season on Saturday, following an outstanding campaign as Liverpool secured their second Premier League title.

The Egyptian forward scored 28 goals and provided 18 assists, helping Liverpool clinch the title with four games remaining under manager Arne Slot.

Having previously won the award in 2017-18, Salah became only the fifth player to win it twice, joining Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Nemanja Vidić, and Kevin De Bruyne.

At 32 years old, Salah is on track to claim another Golden Boot for most goals in a season, currently five goals ahead of Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, ahead of the final matchday.

No player has ever been involved in 46 goals in a 38-game season, and Salah could surpass the record of 47, held by Alan Shearer and Andrew Cole, who set it during a 42-game campaign, when Liverpool face Crystal Palace at Anfield.

With six more assists than any other player, Salah could become the first to win the Golden Boot, Golden Player, and Player of the Season awards in the same campaign.

Earlier this month, he also secured the Football Writers’ Association Men’s Player of the Year for the third time.
