Rep Zubairu Disburses ₦24.5m to 614 Tertiary Students in Zamfara

Rep. Abdulmalik Zubairu (APC–Zamfara), who represents Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has disbursed a total of ₦24.5 million in scholarship grants to 614 tertiary institution students from Bungudu and Maru Local Government Areas.

Speaking during the disbursement event held on Sunday in Bungudu town, Zubairu said the initiative was part of his ongoing efforts to support education in his constituency.

Represented by the Chairman of his Scholarship Committee, Malam Muhammad Adamu, Zubairu noted that the 614 beneficiaries were currently studying a variety of courses across 19 universities in Nigeria.

He explained that the intervention was targeted at students from underprivileged backgrounds “who are finding it difficult to pay their school fees.”

“Today, we are disbursing the sum of ₦24.5 million as scholarship grants to 614 tertiary students,” he announced.

He added that the scheme was designed to help alleviate the financial strain experienced by indigent students and their families amid ongoing economic hardship.
