President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Nigerian filmmakers Damilola Osikoya of Switch Visual Production and Nora Awolowo of Rixel Studios on setting a Guinness World Record.
The President’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, on Monday in Abuja.
The filmmakers achieved the record for the largest attendance at a film screening with Black Market in Lagos on Saturday.
Tinubu commended their creativity, enterprise and ambition, describing the feat as further evidence of the exceptional talent driving Nigeria’s creative industry.
He said Nigeria’s creative economy was building businesses, creating jobs and opening new markets for Nigerian talents.
The President noted that film, music, fashion and art were taking Nigeria’s stories and culture to audiences around the world.
He said the achievement by Black Market demonstrated what Nigerian creativity could accomplish when combined with enterprise and scale.
Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating more opportunities for young Nigerians to build sustainable livelihoods and globally competitive businesses from their talents.
The President commended everyone involved in the production and screening of Black Market and congratulated the team on the achievement.
