Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church, Paul Adefarasin, has voluntarily presented himself to the Lagos State Police Command following the circulation of a viral video purportedly showing him holding a firearm during an interaction with a content creator in Lagos.
This development was confirmed via WhatsApp by the spokesperson of the Lagos State Command, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin.
It will be recalled that a video clip surfaced online last week, depicting Pastor Adefarasin holding a metallic object while addressing a passer-by who was filming the encounter.
The video quickly went viral, prompting widespread speculation on social media, with some alleging that the prominent cleric had brandished a gun during the exchange.

In response, Pastor Adefarasin addressed the matter in a message shared on his social media accounts on Saturday last week, describing the incident as a “misunderstanding.” He clarified that the item seen in the footage was not a firearm and stressed that he did not point it at anyone.
Meanwhile, in his message to our correspondent, CSP Hundeyin stated, “No one is above the law! Pastor Paul Adefarasin has turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, and is currently being interrogated by detectives.
“They have commenced an investigation into the case following the emergence of a video showing the pastor holding a gun-like object toward another road user while driving in an unregistered vehicle.
“The outcome of the investigation will be made public.”
