The Governing Council of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has approved the appointment of Prof. Mohamed Isa-Kida as the new Vice-Chancellor of the institution.
The announcement was made on Wednesday in Lafia, Nasarawa State, where Mrs. Lola Fibisola-Akande, Chairman of the Governing Council, presented the appointment letter to Isa-Kida.
An accomplished accountant, Prof. Isa-Kida previously served as Dean of the Faculty of Management Science at the university. His appointment, which takes effect from 11 February 2026, is for a single tenure of five years.
He will succeed Prof. Shehu Abdul-Rahman, whose term as Vice-Chancellor ends in February 2026.
While congratulating the new appointee, Mrs. Fibisola-Akande expressed confidence that Prof. Isa-Kida’s leadership and experience would further advance the university’s growth and development.
