The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), in partnership with Nollywood’s Anthill Studios, has unveiled a new children’s musical drama titled Temi & The Labalaba Band.
The announcement was made in a statement by Niyi Akinmolayan, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Anthill Studios, on Monday in Lagos.
Set in a local buka (informal eatery), the show follows the story of Mama B’s restaurant, which comes under threat of eviction by a landlord. Determined to save the eatery, Mama B’s daughter, Temi, leads a group of children who use music and dance to draw support from the community.
The buka, located in the heart of Lagos, is portrayed as a vibrant middle-class spot that serves traditional Nigerian meals and functions as a social hub where locals gather to eat, watch football, and unwind.

The series is produced in three major languages: English, French, and Portuguese.
