In a bid to advance Nigeria’s digital transformation and promote greater financial accountability in information technology initiatives, the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa, recently led his management team on a strategic visit to the Accountant General of the Federation, Shamseldeen B. Ogunjimi.

The visit was aimed at reinforcing collaboration between NITDA and the Office of the Accountant General, with particular emphasis on refining funding frameworks and enhancing oversight mechanisms for IT projects implemented across federal public institutions. A key highlight of the meeting was the presentation of NITDA’s revised IT Projects Clearance Guideline Document.

The updated guideline introduces stricter compliance measures to foster transparency, ensure accountability, and curb corruption and duplication in the procurement and implementation of government IT projects nationwide.

This initiative represents a vital step towards achieving Nigeria’s broader digital transformation objectives, by guaranteeing the efficient and effective utilisation of public funds earmarked for IT projects ultimately contributing to the development of a more transparent and resilient digital economy.
