Nigerian businesswoman Folorunso Alakija has built and donated a N34 billion medical research and training hospital to Osun State University, officials confirmed on Thursday.
The facility, named the Modupe and Folorunso Alakija Medical Research and Training Hospital, was commissioned by former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

The hospital is equipped with 250 admission beds, 20 clinical departments, five non-clinical departments, a community health unit, maternity and neonatal care, research and diagnostic laboratories, and four state-of-the-art operating theatres.
Advanced facilities include cutting-edge diagnostic imaging such as CT scan, MRI, ultrasound, and X-ray, radiotherapy suites, 16 intensive care units (ICUs), an ophthalmology unit, and other specialised units aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery and medical research.
The new hospital is expected to significantly improve medical training and healthcare services in the region, providing a hub for research, diagnostics, and clinical care.
