The Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa, is set to honour an invitation to attend the 2025 Ilorin Emirate Durbar, describing the event as a symbol of Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage.
This was confirmed in a letter personally signed by the Minister and addressed to the Chairman of the Ilorin Emirate Durbar Committee, Engr. Suleiman Yahaya Alapansapa.
In the letter, Musawa expressed her gratitude to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, and the people of Ilorin Emirate for the honour of the invitation, stating that she looked forward to joining the community for the celebration.
“It is with great joy and profound enthusiasm that I align myself with this beautiful cultural festival, which remains one of Nigeria’s most captivating expressions of tradition, heritage, and communal pride,” the Minister said.
Describing the Ilorin Emirate Durbar as a “shining testament” to the resilience of traditional institutions in preserving history and identity, she assured the Federal Government’s full support through her ministry.

“As Minister, I pledge the full backing of the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy towards the success of the Durbar and similar initiatives,” she added.
The Ilorin Durbar is an annual cultural event held during the Eid festivities, renowned for its colourful horse displays, royal procession and exhibitions that showcase the Emirate’s history and traditions.
The 2025 edition is expected to feature expanded exhibitions, culinary displays and increased opportunities for community engagement.
Musawa also extended warm regards to the Emir and the people of Ilorin Emirate, confirming her attendance at the event.
